Update for the Month of February, 2012!

"The Hope Project Goes To Lunch" was an INCREDIBLE SUCCESS! Although the city was plagued with snow and terrible weather the week leading up to the event, people still came out, opened their minds, hearts, and (graciously) their wallets as well! We raised $4000 in just one rainy Seattle afternoon! Thank to everyone for taking the time out of their day to learn about The Hope Project and share their time with us!

A big thanks goes out to The Lunchbox Laboratory, Joann Poulias Schmidt, and The Hope Project planning committee (Kate, Lauren, Kelly, Rose, Barbara, and Yin). Without you I'd probably be trying to pull all of this together through lemonade stands and car washes!

I've only been back just over a week and The Hope Project is in full swing!!!!! Things are happening so quickly I am finding it hard to sleep these days with all of the excitement!

Here are some updates:

The Hope Project received it's first DONATION!!! Thank you so much Lynn Engelking. Your support and dedication to this project is amazing! I'm so lucky to have you as a dear friend.You are an inspiration to those around you!
Approximately 20 close friends and family attended an informal potluck on September 9th. It was my first big push to tell people about The Hope Project. And, it was nothing short of INCREDIBLE. People signed up to volunteer, help out, and spread the word about The Hope Project. If YOU are interested in being a part of this project DON'T hesitate to get a hold of me. thehopeprojectvietnam@gmail.com Even if it's just to have a beer to calm me down from all the energy buzzing through me!!!!
The Hope Project Fundraising Kick-Off is underway. A planning committee of 7 very dedicated individuals (Thank YOU Sara, Rose, Kelly, Yin, Thomas, Lauren, and Barbara!!!) met at the venue and after an evening of appetizers and wine (of course!) ideas were shared, tasks were delegated, and details were hammered out!! I can't even begin to describe how infectious the positive energy was! My heart is still pounding in my chest from everything!!!
